my first new york fashion week // what a time
I dreamed of attending New York Fashion Week since age 8 and it seemed like a far away dream for so many years. Fast forward to a couple months ago where I decided to just go for it and make it happen and I did. It was an AMAZING experience for my first time and I learned so much. I decided to share a little recap of my outfits, everything I did, etc. I also have all of my Instagram stories saved under a “NYFW highlight”. .
this is another amazing outfit from H&M and I LOVED it. the dress is so chic and these boots….unreal. HERE is the dress in black. sadly it’s sold out in the color I’m wearing.
plaid pants are a really good option for fall/winter. they pair well with any top/sweater and you really just can’t go wrong with them!
omg this set courtesy of Forever 21 was one of my favorite looks! I wore this to the Nicole Miller show and then we got drinks/apps at Nomo Soho after. sadly it’s sold out :( but Forever 21 has a ton of other good options right now!
you know I’ll wear PJs with anything and literally wear them anywhere. I got this set from the H&M showroom as well and immediately put it on. I was walking through the area where the shows are on my way to a pop-up and 10 street style photographers were photographing me at once, which was maybe one of the coolest experiences of my life. such a cool feeling!
we wore these looks for the Rebecca Minkoff show, which was so fun. I love me a good pair of boots with lots of accessories!
Vivienne Hu: I forgot to photograph this one because I was just in awe that I was at my first NYFW show ever. It was at Spring Studios and was just so cool.
Kate Spade: Probably the most incredible moment ever. My friend Campbell went with me and we got to go backstage before which was on another level. We got to see the models come in, in their street style “model off duty” looks and at one point a model (who I forgot was a VS Angel) had 5 blow dryers on her at once after they washed her hair. Another girl had a kombucha and pizza in her hand while getting her hair done. It was cool to hear their banter and see a sneak peek of the hair. We then walked a block to the show which was at the Elizabeth Street Gardens and when we walked in we couldn’t speak. The set-up was so amazing, so Parisian and just so cool. Every blogger was there too, like the big bloggers, the ones you really look up to and have been following for years and to be at the same show as them, well no words. We also had the best seats in the house, right where the models walked out and then walked back in, so we essentially saw the show twice. (The entire show is on my IGTV if you want to see it)! After the show, we just walked around the gardens people-watching and almost cried we were just so happy to be there. Top 10 life experience for sure.
Rebecca Minkoff: This show was a cool experience. It was at the Chelsea Piers and was a presentation, so it’s a lot of the models in different set-ups naturally moving and interacting with one another. While waiting, Sofia Richie walked past me and I was a little starstruck. We also got to see a ton of our favorite bloggers walk in and out of the show…think your all-time faves and they were there. The collection was also SO GOOD. I want it all!
Nicole Miller: This show was another amazing one. We got to go backstage again and see the model’s hair getting done and Nicole herself was back there as well. It was just so cool to see what goes into it beforehand. The show itself was a ton of fun…the looks were all amazing and a lot of great people were in attendance.
*I want to thank Oribe for the amazing treatment and experience of going backstage and FOH for both Kate Spade and Nicole Miller.
The Range: this was a showcase of The Range’s new collection at Mr. Purple. We got to see the new line (loved it alllll, edgy, athleisure, cool girl, etc). The drinks were amazing and the view was incredible.
What Comes Around Goes Around: this store is such a vibe. It’s all insane vintage Chanel, Gucci, Louis, etc and you want it ALLLL.
Victoria Secret Bombshell Launch Party: definitely SO fun. We drank, danced, chatted with bloggers we all knew from following each other on Instagram but had never actually met, etc.
Corso Como: Corso Como is a really cool store that has literally everything from sick art to an amazing collection of clothes, bags, shoes and crazy cool home goods. It was so much fun to walk around and check it all out!
Beauty and Essex: this was my first time here and SO much fun. The set-up was really cool. I got the Peruvian Chicken and it was unreal, I could eat it literally every day.
Catch: my all-time favorite place in LA and NY. Order the Lobster Avocado Roll and the Truffle Gnocchi and you will be in heaven. I also love the Lush Lemonade and Detox Retox drinks. We also met Jonathan Cheban while there and well, if you know me, you know that was amazing. I told him he was funnier than Scott and he was like “duh, Scott isn’t very funny, I am!”. wish Kim was there though…
TAO: OMG TAO has been a favorite of mine for years. Order anything on the menu and you will be good. My favorites are the Crispy Rice and Lobster Fried Rice. Everything is sooo good though.
Jack’s Wife Freda: such a cute spot, but be prepared for a wait. I wasn’t feeling too hot the day we ate here so I got a baguette (so good though), but my friends got the Madame Freda and said it was the best!
**Overall, it was an amazing, incredible, unreal experience. I learned so much for next year that I can’t wait to put into action. I’ll be back soon :)
